GNSS RECORD & REPLAY SIMULATOR

Record & Replay
All GNSS Signals
in the Upper and Lower L-Band

Including SBAS and commercial differential services. LabSat 4 captures every signal your device will see in the real world and replays it in the lab with up to 12-bit fidelity. Record once. Replay forever.

Why LABSAT 4 IS DIFFERENT

Real sky signal. Not a mathematical model.

Most GNSS simulators generate synthetic signals from mathematical models. LabSat 4 takes a different approach.

Synthetic simulators

Mathematically modelled signals

Signals computed from orbital models — they approximate reality, not reproduce it
Multipath, atmospheric effects, and interference must be manually configured
Edge cases that only occur in real environments are difficult to reproduce synthetically
High complexity and cost to set up scenarios with realistic signal environments
VS

LabSat 4

Captured real-world RF — replayed with 12-bit fidelity

Actual RF signals from live sky, exactly as your device will encounter them in the field
Real multipath, real atmospheric conditions, real interference — nothing is approximated
Edge cases and fault scenarios are captured once, replayed identically — indefinitely
For device validation, regression testing, and production test: a more representative signal environment than any synthetic model can produce

When LabSat 4 replays a scenario, your device responds to the same RF it would see in that exact location, at that exact time – not a simulation of it. For regression testing and production validation, that distinction matters.

THE CHALLENGE

Field testing is costly, slow, and impossible to repeat exactly

Every time you need to validate a GNSS device against a specific signal scenario (weak urban signals, multipath, SBAS corrections), you face the same problem: go back to the field, or accept a test gap.

Repetitive field trips

Recreating real-world GNSS conditions on location is time-consuming and expensive, and the signal environment is never exactly the same twice.

L2, L5 and SBAS coverage gaps

Many simulators stop at L1. If your receiver uses dual-frequency or SBAS augmentation, you need a tool that covers the full L-Band. Not a subset of it.

Inconsistent test conditions

A bug that appeared during a drive test may never reproduce. Without a recorded scenario, diagnosing and fixing the root cause is guesswork.

FULL L-BAND COVERAGE

Every constellation. Every frequency band. Including SBAS.

LabSat 4 records and replays across the full upper and lower L-Band. No signal left out. Configure additional frequencies via the web interface; bespoke requirements such as Iridium and Sirius XM are available on request.

CAPABILITIES

Built for engineers who need precise, repeatable results

3 independently configurable RF channels

Each channel has its own centre frequency, bandwidth (10 to 60 MHz), and quantisation (up to 12-bit I&Q). Record any combination of GNSS signals simultaneously.

API and Ethernet automation

Automate test sequences, run continuous overnight programmes without supervision, and control multiple units from a central office, including global production sites.

Synchronised additional signal logging

Log dual-CAN, CAN-FD, RS232, digital inputs, and RTK correction data in sync with GNSS RF. Essential for automotive and autonomous vehicle testing.

Multi-unit synchronisation for dual-antenna testing

Connect two LabSat 4 units via the Dual Sync Cable for precisely synchronised record and replay. Critical for heading and attitude applications.

Real-time simulation with SatGen

Generate custom GNSS RF scenarios, static or dynamic, and stream them live with current UTC time. No pre-recorded file needed for SatGen-powered tests.

Conducted or radiated testing

Direct RF output to devices with external antenna ports, or use radiated testing with the LabSat Test Enclosure for devices with internal antennas, including wearables.
