SatGen Real-Time+ for HIL GNSS Simulation, Now Available
25 June 2026
LabSat has introduced SatGen Real-Time+, a new software licence that brings closed-loop Hardware-in-the-Loop GNSS simulation to the LabSat 4 series.
Available now as an add-on for SatGen Wideband, SatGen Real-Time+ accepts a live NMEA stream from an external source and generates synchronised, multi-constellation, multi-frequency, GNSS RF signals in real time.
Unlike scenario-based simulation, SatGen Real-Time+ responds to what the system under test is actually doing. Engineers working with vehicle test rigs, rolling roads, motion platforms, or UAV simulation environments can now deliver live, position-accurate GNSS RF signals directly into their test setup, without leaving the lab.

Why It Matters
As HIL environments become more sophisticated, the demand for GNSS simulation that keeps pace with live system dynamics has grown significantly. SatGen Real-Time+ addresses this by delivering:
-
Live NMEA-driven RF generation: Accepts GGA and RMC sentences at 5–100 Hz via Ethernet or RS232, and outputs corresponding GNSS RF signals via any LabSat 4 series device.
-
Full multi-constellation, multi-frequency support, including GPS L1–L5, Galileo E1–E6, GLONASS, BeiDou, NavIC, and SBAS, covering the full wideband signal set.
-
Mid-test signal control: Attenuation, satellite selection, and constellation mix can all be adjusted during a live simulation without stopping the test.
-
A simple upgrade path for existing users: SatGen Wideband licence holders can activate SatGen Real-Time+ remotely with a new licence file, with no hardware changes required.
-
Broad application coverage: Suited to automotive ADAS, autonomous vehicle development, robotics, precision agriculture, UAV navigation, and any programme where validated position accuracy is required before field deployment.

"SatGen Real-Time+ is designed for the point in a programme where pre-scripted scenarios are no longer enough. When your test rig is generating live motion, your GNSS simulation needs to keep up. SatGen Real-Time+ closes that gap and keeps the testing in the lab, where conditions are controlled and repeatable."
