With three channels, a bandwidth of up to 56MHz and 6 bit sampling, LabSat 3 WIDEBAND can handle almost any combination of constellation and signal that exists today, with plenty of spare capacity for future planned signals.

Wideband Freq

The image above shows an example test setup within the LabSat 3 Wideband web server. All GNSS signals and one signal band are selected, a bandwidth of 56 MHz around the centre frequency of 1580 MHz, and a current quantisation of 1.

Bandwidth Setting:

LabSat 3 Wideband has three bandwidth settings. 56 MHz, 30 MHz and 10 MHz.

The bandwidth of the GNSS signals varies, for example a GPS L1 C/A code signal has a bandwidth of 24 MHz. However, due to the signal design a bandwidth of 9.66 MHz will capture enough data to allow the receiver under test to acquire, track and navigate as with LabSat 3 single, dual and triple constellation devices.

Other signals with a different signal design like Galileo E1 PRS signal has a bandwidth of 46 MHz and a signal design spread across the bandwidth.
Many other signals have a similar requirement like GPS L1/L2 P code and M code. LabSat 3 Wideband has been designed to capture all these signals.

Frequency Setting:

LabSat 3 Wideband is designed to capture and replay GNSS signals in the upper L-Band (1559 - 1610 MHz) and lower L-Band (1164 - 1300 MHz).

Quantisation setting:

LabSat 3 Wideband can record and replay GNSS Signals at quantisation levels of:
  • 3 bits (3 bit I + 3 bit Q)
  • 2 bits (2 bit I + 2 bit Q)
  • 1 bits (1 bit I + 1 bit Q)

Small, lightweight enclosure

LabSat 3 Wideband is housed in a conveniently small enclosure measuring 167mm x 128mm x 46mm and weighing only 1.2kg, so it can be used to record GNSS signals anywhere. Subsequent replay is entirely realistic to allow for robust product development and testing.

The system is simple to use with one touch record and replay and SSD logging, and no requirement for a connected computer. An inbuilt battery pack gives two hours of use, and a 1TB solid-state hard drive is supplied as standard.

Recording and Replay of Additional Signals

LabSat 3 Wideband can record a range of additional signals, synchronised to the GNSS input: dual-CAN, RS232, and digital inputs are simultaneously captured increasing the level of playback realism and allowing for a wider range of testing. This flexibility means that the development of products incorporating this variety of signal streams can be conducted with absolute convenience on the bench, without the need for costly and time consuming field trials. NMEA data is also recorded via the inbuilt GNSS receiver.

시뮬레이터를 사용하는 이유?

LabSat3는 외부 환경의 실제 위성 데이터 를 저장 및 재현 해 주는 차별화된 장비입니다. 이는 GNSS수신이 안 되는 제약된 환경에서도 실제 데이터를 반복 실행 할 수 있습니다. 따라서 저장된 데이터에는 멀티패스, 대류층 영향 등의 정보가 포함되어 저장 및 재현 될 수 있으며, 위성의 채널 수에 제한이 없습니다.

일반적인 테스트는 위성의 상황이 수시로 바뀌는 곳을 여러 번 운전해야 하는 번거로움이 있는데 비해 LabSat3 장비는 이러한 번거로움 없이 GNSS 수신기의 Error나 수신 문제를 발견 해 낼 수 있습니다. 이러한 장점을 이용하여 LabSat3는 사용자에게 많은 시간을 절약 할 수 있고, 현장에 나가지 않고도 Error를 정확히 찾아내고, 검증 할 수 있게 해줍니다.

어떻게 동작 되나요?

우선, LabSat3는 안테나로부터 신호를 받습니다. 그런 다음 안테나로부터 수신된 원시 위성 데이터를 디지털화하여 SD 카드나 USB disk에 저장 하게 됩니다.

LabSat3의 RF output은 테스트 모듈의 안테나 input에 연결이 되고, 저장된 데이터는 원시 RF 신호로 재현 됩니다. 그렇게 되면 테스트 모듈은 실제 필드 테스트 환경에 사용되었던 원시 위성 데이터를 그대로 수신 할 수 있는 환경을 갖추게 되는 것입니다.

원시데이터가 재현 될 때, 여러 가지 정보가 기록된 데이터는 60ns안에서 동기화 되어 재현 될 수 있으며, 내부 GPS 수신기를 이용하여 1PPS도 같이 기록 할 수 있습니다.

어떻게 자신만의 원하는 시나리오를 만드나요?

만약, 사용자께서 특별히 원하는 시나리오를 만들려면, SatGen Software에서 지원되는 Google map을 이용, 경로를 생성하여 RF file을 만든 후 SD카드에 저장 및 Replay하여 사용 할 수 있습니다.

여러 개의 위성에 대하여 시뮬레이션 할 수 있으며, 사용자는 속도, 해딩, 고도 값에 대하여 정확하게 제어를 할 수 있습니다.
