Do you need a GPS simulator that can record and replay GPS signals synchronised with CAN bus and video streams?

In addition to GNSS signals, LabSat 3 Wideband can record data including dual CAN bus, RS232 and digital signals. Recorded data is tightly synchronised allowing, for example, realistic recreation of wheel-speed and gyro data in applications such as telematics or navigation system development. Other applications include development of V2X systems where it is necessary to record and replay braking and signalling information alongside GNSS signals.

When recording CAN bus data, all bus traffic can be saved to a timestamped text file. This makes it simple to read and edit data before replay allowing test of erroneous CAN data in a safe environment.

A Video VBOX can be used in combination with LabSat to record video of the test route. The video and GNSS signals can then be synchronised during replay. This helps to identify the effect of external conditions on your device, such as why exactly was there a drop-out or multi-path reflection at a particular point in the test, and what caused it?

The LabSat 3 Turntable Solution enables reliable and repeatable testing of navigation systems by activating the dead reckoning in the system under test at your bench.

The solution combines a LabSat 3 simulator, which in addition to GNSS signals also captures wheel speed data from the vehicle’s CAN bus, Video VBOX data logger, turntable and yaw rate sensor. By combining the GNSS data with vehicle yaw rate and wheel speed information, the turntable simulates the physical turning experienced within the test scenario and activates the dead reckoning accordingly.

Additionally, the synchronised video captured by the Video VBOX data logger provides a realistic visual replay of the driven route.

As the simulation is based on a real recording, the data will replicate any satellite signal loss experienced in city centres and tunnels etc and maintain the dead reckoning solution until the signals are regained, just like the live drive. This makes the replay repeatable time and again to save you significant testing costs.
