New software makes it even easier to simulate GPS scenarios

Making it quicker and easier for test engineers to simulate satellite scenarios anywhere in the world, our new GPS only simulation software – SatGen v2 – makes testing GPS enabled devices easier than ever.
Developed with the user in mind, this software enables you to create scenes based on generated trajectory files which can be easily replayed on any LabSat GNSS Simulator. SatGen v2 will give you the opportunity to simulate a test anywhere in the world, with position, route, speed, date and time all easily defined.
Racelogic announced as double winner in the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, with both Innovation and International Trade awards.
Announced on Saturday 21st April, to mark Her Majesty’s birthday, the 2012 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise listings contained 209 companies, with Racelogic being one of only four to be honoured with the award for both Innovation and International Trade.
Racelogic won the Innovation award for our advances in GPS/GLONASS test simulation, with Customers such as Broadcom, ST-Ericsson and Telefonica using LabSat to test their devices.
Honda turns to LabSat for testing in the absence of GPS

To cover for losses in satellite visibility, which can occur in urban canyons, tunnels and under bridges, most OEM navigation systems have a dead reckoning capability that utilises vehicle wheel speed data and turn rate information. When it comes to testing these systems on the bench, if the dead reckoning signals are not present, the navigation systems will not function correctly. To overcome this, UK based electronics company Racelogic has introduced a full navigation system testing solution comprising of a LabSat GPS simulator, Video VBOX data logger, turntable, yaw rate sensor and wheel speed generation unit.
To record the data, the LabSat and Video VBOX are placed in the vehicle during a simple drive along the desired test route. The wheel speed data is recorded from the vehicle CAN bus, and the yaw rate sensor records the physical movement of the vehicle.
