Motion simulation using a precision turntable
Mems gyro sensor
If your device under test includes a dead reckoning facility, it will probably use a gyro and wheelspeed input to fill in any gaps in the GPS coverage. Therefore, if you are trying to use a simulator with such a product, then the lack of matching speed input (or even physical motion) may stop the device from functioning correctly. With LabSat, the external signals from wheel speed sensors can be recorded and replayed, and there are two options for dealing with the gyro data. The first is to record and replay the live signal from the sensor, and the second is to recreate the physical movement of the vehicle, stimulating the gyro directly. Recreating the rotational motion is straight forward using LabSat, as it has an internal GPS engine which can output the heading and velocity information to a precision turntable, which physically rotates the device under test. For a demonstration of this in operation, please see the following video: Please contact sales for a quotation if you wish to simulate motion as well as GPS. |
